DIY Bib necklace

I'm not quite sure whether to call this a necklace or a detachable collar. I've had this in my head for a long time and finally got round to making it this weekend. I also drew a pattern for it that I'm sharing here for free.

• Beads or rhinestones

• Matching fabric

• Matching thread and a small needle

• Hook and eye or button and loop

Cut the pattern along the outer line. 1 cm = 3/8" seam allowance is included.

Fold fabric and place middle front edge of pattern on fold. Cut two pieces.

With right sides facing, stitch the two pieces together, leaving ends open. Trim seam allowance to about 4 mm and turn inside out. Using a blunt tool carefully push out the curved edge into a neat shape and press.

Start by arranging the stones to your liking and checking how many you will need. Then start sewing them on from the middle outwards. Finally turn in seam allowance at ends, topstitch and handstitch hook and eye and in place.
