Runway inspiration: Modern plaid

I'm not usually a fan of checkered fabrics but this modern, graphic take on it is making me think I should give it a chance. This is called windowpane plaid and it's been making appearances on the runways for a few seasons now.

Modern plaid fabric options

Dress is from Lisa Perry's pre-fall 2016 collection.

It always frustrates me how difficult it is to find on-trend fabrics but I did come across a few options online:

Swiss plaid shirting in white from fabric.com

Black, white and grey tweed coating from fabric.com

An ebay find: 100% cotton dress fabric with large black check pattern on white background

I know what you mean. Fabrics shops are about 10 seasons behind trends! It must be changing soon though, now that sewing patterns are starting to catch up. Here’s hoping ?:)

I agree. Windowpane fabric is extremely difficult to find. The ebay fabric is what I am looking for (wish it wasn’t cotton) will be very costly for me since I live in the US. It may be more available when it is no longer a trend (lol).
